Why are there so many Obese Americans with this Health and Fitness craze the way it is?
So many people are joining gyms and fitness centers, yet the rate of heart disease and obesity related problem is at an all time high…. give me your thoughts on why this might be?
The prevalence of refined sugar, white flour, and stress, in the American lifestyle.
Eating less processed foods which retain some significant life energy,
reducing the insulin levels in our blood, and
letting the body's natural cleaning and health-creating chemical processes take place, which they can't when we are stressed, would have far more effect on obesity in America than any gym program.

Epigenetics. It's partly due to the Great Depression.
"[edit] Transgenerational epigenetic observations
Marcus Pembrey and colleagues also observed that the paternal (but not maternal) grandsons of Swedish boys who were exposed to famine in the 19th century were less likely to die of cardiovascular disease; if food was plentiful then diabetes mortality in the grandchildren increased, suggesting that this was a transgenerational epigenetic inheritance.[34]"

Dieting is the biggest factor contributing to obesity. A lot of people have to try the newest fad diet and we all know that billions of dollars are spent on diet fads. These diets cause us to lower caloric intake too much and body goes into starvation mode. Fat burning thermostat lowers. We lose the weight, usually too quickly. When start eating normal again the weight comes back on and then more on top of that. This cycle continues and people give up and still continue to eat garbage foods and not exercise.

There are fast food joints on every corner and you ask why so many americans are obese?
People join gyms and fitness centers, but how often do they actually go? Instead they are "too busy today" so they run to the drive thru and bring home some fatty fried foods for their families.
Americans put too many hours in at the office, not enough with their families, and not enough on themselves.
Put the work away for a day, sit with the family and enjoy a healthy home cooked meal, then instead of letting the tv entertain you, go for a walk or bike ride with the family!
